Cookie Policy
This page lists what Tech or Skip stores in your browser today, and what will be added once advertising is live. For how this data is used more broadly, see our privacy policy.
What we use today
Right now, the only thing this site stores in your browser is a single
localStorage entry, tos-cookie-notice-dismissed, set when you
click "OK" on the cookie notice banner. It's not a cookie in the technical sense — it's
local browser storage that never gets sent to our server or anywhere else. It exists purely
so the banner doesn't reappear on every page you visit, and it stays on your device until
you clear your browser's site data.
We do not currently set any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.
What gets added with Google AdSense
Once the site is approved for Google AdSense, Google and its advertising partners will set their own cookies to serve ads, measure ad performance, and, where you've allowed it, personalize which ads you see. These are set and controlled by Google, not by us directly. You can read about them and manage your preferences at Google's advertising cookie policy and Google Ads Settings. The cookie banner on this site is designed to load before any ad or analytics script would, so this policy will be updated the same day AdSense goes live.
Affiliate merchants linked from articles may also set their own cookies when you click through — see our affiliate disclosure.
How to manage or block cookies
You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser's settings:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Blocking storage entirely will make the cookie notice banner reappear on every visit, since we won't be able to remember that you dismissed it.
