How affiliate links are marked

Any article that contains affiliate links is flagged in that article's data, which automatically shows a disclosure line right at the top of the piece: "Disclosure: this article contains affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you." You'll always see that line before you read the review, not buried in fine print at the bottom.

Commissions never change the verdict

The USE, WAIT or SKIP call is decided before, and independently of, whether a product has an affiliate program. If a product with an affiliate program deserves a SKIP, it gets a SKIP. We don't accept payment, free products, or affiliate relationships in exchange for a favorable review or verdict — see our editorial independence section for more.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in line with FTC guidance on endorsements and affiliate marketing (16 CFR Part 255): we tell you clearly, before you click, when a link could result in us earning money.
