Affiliate Disclosure

Tech or Skip doesn't run affiliate links today. If we add them later, here's exactly how they'll work and how we'll disclose them.

Current status

Tech or Skip does not currently participate in any affiliate programs. No article on this site earns a commission today.

If that changes, this page will name the specific programs we participate in, and any article containing affiliate links will say so clearly at the top of the article, before any of those links appear.

How affiliate links would be marked

If an article contains affiliate links, that article's data will be flagged, which automatically shows a disclosure line right at the top of the piece: "Disclosure: this article contains affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you." You'd see that line before you read the review, not buried in fine print at the bottom.

Commissions won't change the verdict

The USE, WAIT or SKIP call is decided before, and independently of, whether a product has an affiliate program. If a product with an affiliate program deserves a SKIP, it gets a SKIP. We won't accept payment, free products, or affiliate relationships in exchange for a favorable review or verdict. See our editorial independence section for more.

FTC compliance

If we add affiliate links, we'll follow FTC guidance on endorsements and affiliate marketing (16 CFR Part 255): telling you clearly, before you click, when a link could result in us earning money.
